Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
Status: Permanently Closed
Heritage Park was a 9-hole disc golf course located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The course featured wooded fairways, significant elevation changes, and some of the most challenging technical golf within the city. Despite being located in a public park, it remained relatively unknown to many players.
The course included baskets and tee areas but lacked permanent navigation signage, making it difficult for first-time visitors to follow without the use of UDisc. Players frequently cited wayfinding and maintenance concerns as the primary weaknesses of the course. Despite those issues, many local players considered Heritage Park one of the most demanding and unique disc golf layouts in the Lynchburg area.
The Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department announced that the course would permanently close on January 1, 2025. The decision disappointed many local players who felt the course had untapped potential and could have benefited from additional maintenance, signage, and promotion.
