Mount Pleasant

 Mount Pleasant DGC

Location: Mount Pleasant, Tennessee

Status: Open

Mount Pleasant Disc Golf Course is a 9-hole course located in a neighborhood park in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Established in 2021, the course occupies mostly flat, open terrain with a handful of young trees and scattered obstacles. Unlike many Tennessee courses that rely heavily on woods and elevation, Mount Pleasant emphasizes straightforward shot execution and is particularly welcoming to beginners and casual players.

The course is relatively short by modern standards, with every hole measuring under 320 feet. Most players can complete a round in less than an hour, making it a convenient option for local residents, families, and travelers looking for a quick round. While experienced players may not find the layout particularly demanding, the course serves as an accessible introduction to the sport and a useful practice venue for approach shots and putting.

The biggest challenge at Mount Pleasant is not the layout itself but the infrastructure surrounding it. Navigation can be confusing for first-time visitors, and many players rely on UDisc to locate baskets and the next tee. One tee location has been reported missing, and the small slate tee markers can be difficult to identify. The course map and physical pars are also outdated, with several holes still listed as par 4 despite being short modern par 3 holes. Public reviews frequently mention these issues and recommend using the UDisc layout for accurate navigation and scoring.

Unlike many small community courses, maintenance is generally not a major concern. The grass is usually kept under control, and the open nature of the property allows for easy play throughout most of the year. Some players have noted occasional basket issues, but overall the course remains playable and accessible.

Legacy

Mount Pleasant Disc Golf Course is one of the lesser-known courses in Middle Tennessee. While it lacks the length, elevation, and infrastructure of larger regional destinations, it provides a free and accessible place to play in a community that previously had few disc golf opportunities. With updated signage, improved navigation, and modernized tee information, the course could become a more attractive stop for both local players and travelers passing through the area.

Why I'm Ambassador?

Orphan course.

What has been done?

  • Corrected the pars, as several really short holes were incorrectly listed as par 4s.
  • Created an 18-hole Smart Layout.
  • Contacted the Parks and Recreation Department regarding the outdated tee signs and course signage, which still display the old pars.
